It was always a really weird thing, but I think it just reveals the issue of having to advertise a product before you are done designing even the outside of the box! Several Dark Sun products have a different picture in the catalogs. I can’t honestly say why any particular cover changed, and sometimes I liked the draft version better (though not usually).
